The PPMS Dynacool is Quantum Design's next-generation physical properties measurement system. It is a completely redesigned instrument that offers all the capabilities of the PPMS without the need for cryogenic liquids. The system uses a single two-stage cryocooler for both the superconducting magnet and the temperature control system, requiring only a small volume of helium gas for fully automated start-up and operation. This provides an efficient, low-vibration environment for sample measurement while reducing maintenance costs
The equipment basically consists of a temperature control system (1.9 K – 400 K) and a superconducting coil to apply an external field of ±9 Tesla; the different measurement options are installed on this basic platform.
The system allows control of all parameters during the measurement process
We have two external devices: the He_3 refrigerator, with which we can control the temperature from 0.4 K, and a dilution refrigerator, with which we can reach 50 mK
In addition, it is a very versatile instrument that allows for the design of a multitude of experiments through the external control of instruments, using the base platform for temperature and magnetic field control
